Configuring Your IRB Offices to Use IRB Exchange
Your IRB offices must be associated with the IRB Exchange accounts you set up earlier before multi-site studies from these offices can be transferred to and from the IRB Exchange. The account selected determines the organization that the multi-site studies and site projects are associated with when seen on the IRB Exchange.
From the IRB office, you select the IRB Exchange account by its configured account name, which does not identify the endpoint. All accounts configured to use the currently active endpoint are available to select.
Tip: Because the IRB office identifies the account by name only, you can take advantage of two accounts that you previously configured with identical account names that use different endpoints (a test/production account pair). When the active endpoint for your store is changed (such as from test to production), the IRB office can switch to the account by the same name that uses the new active endpoint. In this scenario, the IRB office does not need to be edited when the endpoint changes.
To update your IRB offices with IRB Exchange accounts:
- Log into the site with an account with Site Manager privileges.
- In the top navigator, click Settings.
- In the sub-navigator, click IRB Settings.
- On the IRB Settings page, click the IRBs tab.
- Click the name of the existing office to edit it.
- Scroll to the IRB Exchange account question at the bottom.
- Select one of the configured IRB Exchange accounts.
- Click OK.
The IRB office is updated in your database. Once integration with the IRB Exchange is enabled in a later step, any new multi-site study or site projects will use the IRB Exchange as appropriate to share data with the other institutions involved as part of the review workflow.
For more general information about using and configuring IRB offices, see the IRB Deployment Guide, available from the IRB Downloads page for your release.
Next Steps
Next you'll enable integration with the IRB Exchange on your store with a setting, as described in Enabling IRB Exchange Integration on Your Store.
