Installing the IRB Exchange Client Libraries Patch
For Huron IRB and Huron Portal stores, the IRB Exchange Client Libraries patch (configuration update) should be applied. It includes:
- A configuration view and code for connecting your store to the IRB Exchange
- The Huron Portal IRB Client Library
- The .NET Client Library
Prerequisites
Your store must be on Huron Portal 8.0.5 or later to install this patch. See the downloads page referenced below for the exact prerequisites.
Applying This Patch
To get and use this patch:
- Download the patch from the IRB Exchange Client Libraries downloads page.
- Backup your store.
- Apply the patch to your store as you would any other patch.
Assigning the User Role
The following instructions are only applicable if running IRB or IRB Exchange Client Libraries versions below 9.1.0. If you are using IRB 9.1 or above and IRB Exchange Client Libraries 9.1 or above, this section should be skipped.
Note: The configuration of connections is performed in the Site Administration area of the site. The user who does the configuration does not require the Site Manager role; however, having the Site Manager role would make it a little easier to navigate to the appropriate form. A URL will be provided for those without Site Manager permissions.
Important! For environments using CPIP with a different store as the master store for profile data, make sure you perform your user configuration on the master store.
For instructions on assigning user roles, see Assign Roles to a User. After the user role has been assigned, the user will need to log out and log back into the system for the role to take effect.
Staging vs. Production Stores
Regarding performing these steps in multiple stores:
- You will need to apply the patch to each store that will connect to the IRB Exchange.
- Depending on how you transfer user configuration from one store to another, you may or may not need to assign the new user role manually on each store.
Next Steps
Next you'll configure accounts and test your store's access to the IRB Exchange, as described in Configuring IRB Exchange Accounts.
