Architectural Overview

Huron IRB Exchange offers a Web API that any system can integrate with directly through the addition of application code. Client libraries for Huron Portal and .NET ease the integration process for Portal and .NET-based systems. The Huron IRB solution has been fully integrated with the IRB Exchange already, so no additional programming is necessary.

Client Libraries

The IRB Exchange .NET Client Library provides many common methods you'll need to interact with the IRB Exchange. The .NET Client Library is provided as a package available from NUGET.

For sites built on the Huron Portal (formerly Click Portal) platform, the Huron Portal IRB Client Library provides additional methods to help Portal make seamless use of the .NET library, including optimizing document uploads with parallel processing and background operations. It also includes a few configuration objects to ease configuration of your IRB Exchange account.

For use in Portal sites, these two client libraries are packaged together into a Huron Portal-compatible configuration update (patch) that can be applied to your Huron IRB or other Huron Portal store.

Data Security

To handle your data security needs, all data stored in the IRB Exchange is encrypted, along with all data transferred to and from the IRB Exchange. For more information, see Security Overview.

Data Formats

Data formats for exchanging IRB-related data are specifically defined, so data from your system must be transformed as needed to match the data model. For details, see IRB Data Formats Overview.
