Getting Started with Huron IRB
For a Huron IRB 8.1 or later store, once you complete the steps for connecting your store to the IRB Exchange and completing your store's configuration, your IRB site will be ready to exchange study data with other institutions using the Huron IRB built-in workflow.
Connecting your Huron IRB store to the IRB Exchange involves the following major steps:
- Signing an agreement with Huron to use the IRB Exchange.
- Planning for the accounts and systems you need to connect with the IRB Exchange.
- Getting digital certificates for secure access to the IRB Exchange.
- Requesting one or more IRB Exchange accounts.
- Installing certificates and granting access to the private keys.
- Installing the Huron IRB Exchange Client Libraries patch on your store.
- Configuring IRB Exchange accounts on your store and testing access to the IRB Exchange.
- Configuring your IRB offices to use the IRB Exchange.
- Enabling integration with the IRB Exchange on your store.
- Completing institutional profiles for other institutions that participate on the IRB Exchange.
About the Test and Production Sites
The IRB Exchange offers a test site where you can use your staging system to practice using the IRB Exchange, and also a production site where you can connect your production system to exchange real data. Some of the getting started steps apply differently to your staging and production systems, and some steps must be performed more than once. See the detailed instructions for each step.
The IRB Exchange site URLs will be configured for you, but you can also view them in the Web API Overview.
